1. How to Use Instagram Reels Templates

Instagram

Have you been hesitant to use Reels (videos) on Instagram? The new Template feature may help you get started.

You can now create your own Reels by using other Reels as a “template”. This is a helpful feature for anyone new to Reels or for business owners who don’t have time to create a Reel from scratch.

If you select “use as a template”, you’ll just replace the template’s images/videos with your own, while keeping the existing music and timing.

2. Instagram Rolls Out Grid Pinning to All Users

You can now “pin” a post to your Instagram Grid (profile). A pinned post will remain at the top of your Grid until you un-pin it. It’s a great way to highlight your most important posts.

You can pin up to 3 photos or videos.

Follow these steps to pin a post:

    • Go to the post you want to pin
    • Tap the 3 dots in the top-right corner
    • Choose the “Pin to your profile” option
3. Welcome to the Advertiser Success Center (for Facebook and Instagram)

Meta

Meta has launched a new ad education platform, to help ensure that brands are able to make the most of their Facebook and Instagram promotions heading into the end-of-year push.

Meta’s new ‘Advertiser Success Center’ mini-site includes dedicated sections on all of Meta’s various ad tools and options, highlighting a range of tips, as well as links to further reading and resources to up your game.

Most of the info presented here is not new, as such, but it’s been grouped together within each section, making it easier to navigate to the most relevant info for your needs.

4. Meta rolls out new parental controls for Instagram and Quest VR headsets

TechCrunch

There are some updates for the parental control options available on Instagram:

Parental control is rolling out in 7 more countries worldwide: the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, Ireland, Canada, France, and Germany.

Parents can initiate the supervision of their teen’s Instagram account, and both parent and teen must agree to switch on the feature.

Parents can set periods during the week  (times and days) when their teen can’t use Instagram.

Parents will be provided information when their teen reports something on Instagram. The data will include who and what they have specifically reported.
