Facebook Group Admin Tools and Updates
Last Friday’s weekly show from Social Media Examiner was all about Facebook Groups and the features and functions available (or coming soon) to admins.
These include:
- Adding your Page’s pixel to Groups so marketers can track engaged audiences.
- Creating “Mentors and Mentees” in Groups.
- Facebook’s ‘Watch Party’ rolls out to everyone, letting Groups watch videos together.
- Group admins can now pin comments (to the top of the Group’s timeline). Posts can also be pinned to the top and have been available for a while.
- Facebook Experiments With Conversation Starter Badge in Groups: highlight users and admins who are “constantly creating meaningful discussions with their posts.”
- A “Subscription” feature is being tested in some Groups.
- New Tools to Support Group Admins and Keep Communities Safe are rolling out.
- New Features for Groups to Build Communities are rolling out: badges for group admins, moderators, new members; member profiles; welcome posts
- Group “Units”: how to use them to organize your content
Check out the links by topic included in the show notes and use the information as you create and manage your own Facebook Group.
Tip: Keep in mind the amount of time (and resources) necessary to manage a Facebook Group before randomly creating one! Also, remember that Facebook (and other social sites) are “rented” space…and it’s necessary to have your own email lists/database of customers or prospects where control is in your hands.
If you have any questions about Facebook Groups, just let me know! I’d be happy to help!
