Instagram Gives All Users Link-Sharing Feature in Stories | Weekly Resources

Here is another big update from Instagram: now ALL users have the option to put a “Link” sticker in their Stories to direct other users to their website, landing page, etc.

Learn more about this update plus check out some other big news from major platforms this week.

1. Instagram Expands Link Sharing on Stories to Everyone

Instagram Blog

Previously, users needed more than 10,000 followers to share a link in their Stories, but no longer!

This option is available to everyone now and can help small business/creator accounts direct traffic to their websites or landing pages.

Have you tried this new feature yet?

2. The Facebook Company is Now Meta

Meta

Announced this week, Facebook (the company) is now called Meta. What this re-name means for users remains to be seen, but note that individual apps will retain their current names:

    • Facebook
    • Instagram
    • Messenger
    • WhatsApp

Mari Smith created a helpful graphic and Facebook post on the name changes. See the image below and check out her post here: Mari Smith

3. Twitter Opens Up Super Follows to All Users on iOS

Social Media Today

Twitter accounts with more than 10,000 followers can now charge a fee for exclusive content (iOS only right now).

“…creators are provided with a new ‘Super Followers’ audience selection option for their tweets, which limits the reach of their content to their paying subscribers only.”

If you’re interested in growing your Twitter account, this new feature can provide a monetary goal for your strategy.

4. LinkedIn Launches New Freelancer Connection Tools to Lean into the Rising Gig Economy

Social Media Today

If you’re looking for freelance work, then LinkedIn’s new expansion of its Services Marketplace may help.

When you create a service page, you’ll now have a dashboard to manage project requests and messages all right from LinkedIn. No need to manage different communication channels. And, we’ll send you notifications if new requests or messages come in.”
