Personal Branding: 4 Tools to Help You Find Content to Share with Your Community

Four Content Curation Tools

As the online world grows bigger, and information gets shared faster, we all suffer in some degree from information overload. But you can help your followers! One goal of your personal branding strategy is to become a valuable resource to your target audience. You want people in your niche to feel like they can count on you for helpful tips, resources and information on topics important to them.

So how do you keep up with your information overload, and find the right content to share with your community?

There are many tools and Apps available to help you find content. To keep you from being overwhelmed by all those choices, I’ll be sharing some of my favorites in “bite-size” chunks, so you can try out a few and find the ones best suited for you.

1. Feedly

With this RSS Reader, you can add your favorite blogs or websites to folders and then check each folder regularly for the latest posts from those sites.

This is my main go-to source every morning, as I’ve worked to build up a collection of over 100 sites I use for finding great content for my and my clients’ social media sites.

2. BufferApp – Suggestions

The BufferApp is a fantastic scheduling tool and one of my favorites for managing my social media posts, but they recently added a Suggestions feature. The suggestions are posts that are similar to the content you regularly schedule on your Buffer account.

I’ve found some interesting articles and blogs that were brand new to me using this feature.

3. Swayy

This app is a relatively new favorite on my list. What I like about this one is that it aggregates content  based on your online communities (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).

Once you’ve linked your Swayy account to your social profiles (up to 3 with the free account), all you need to do is visit your dashboard to see what is trending in your communities.

4. AllTop

This content aggregator gives you access to a wide variety of topics, which you can customize based on your interests.

Just create your My AllTop account and then search for topics based on keywords or phrases. You can then add the appropriate blogs to your account and visit it on a regular basis.

You can also check out what’s trending on all AllTop channels for current events and hot topics.

So there is a quick overview of 4 very helpful tools you can use to find great  content for your target audience and position yourself as a go-to resource. If you have questions about any of them, send me a message on my Facebook Page and I’ll be happy to help!
