1. Which Social Media Channels See the Most ROI?

Hubspot blog

As a small business owner, you don’t want to waste your time and money on platforms that don’t give you a good return.

According to research, these are the top channels:

      1. Facebook
      2. Instagram
      3. LinkedIn
      4. YouTube
      5. Twitter

Like any advice or information on the “best” way to do something on social media, it also depends on where your ideal customers spend their time.

Most types of businesses will probably find some success on the top 2 here: Facebook and Instagram, but if you sell products instead of services, then LinkedIn may not be the third-best platform for your business.

Good advice from the article:

“No matter the social media channel, the best way to increase your ROI is by improving your consumer intelligence. Get to know your customers better than your family, and understand what they’re saying about your products, and where they’re discussing them.” Dan Seavers from Talkwalker

2. Rethinking the Customer Journey: A Strategy for Marketers

Continuing with the topic of better understanding your customers, check out this article on going from a marketing funnel to a marketing hourglass strategy.

The traditional sales funnel is based on what the company or the business wants customers to do: lead them from that first introduction to their purchasing decision.

The new hourglass shape of the customer journey is organized around the behaviors customers want to do.

Here’s a good summary of the hourglass shape: “the larger end at the top when businesses are first introducing themselves to consumers for the Know, getting smaller around the middle as those consumers make the decision to purchase, and then getting wider again at the bottom as those purchasers refer the business to new consumers.”

I never tried them myself. Did you?
