Does your Instagram marketing strategy include Reels, Shops, Highlights or Guides? If not, it may be time to consider expanding your use of business-friendly resources on the platform.

Social Media Examiner
If you’ve noticed a trend of new or expanded features on a platform where we originally just tried to find eye-catching photos, here is why:
“…Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri announced that Instagram is ‘no longer just a square photo-sharing app.’ He revealed the platform’s number-one goal is to entertain and it will be focusing on four key areas: creators, video, shopping, and messaging.”
You may be currently posting photos and short videos on Instagram’s Post Feed and Stories, but there are many more ways to reach and engage with your target audience.
This helpful resource shares 11 ways you can connect with your ideal customer on Instagram, and gives an overview on features such as:
- Instagram Highlights and Guides
- IGTV Video and Instagram Live
- Reels
- Shops on Instagram
- Instagram Ads
- And a few more…
This is a terrific resource to save as you are creating (or adjusting) your Instagram strategy.
But note that while 11 features are discussed, that is NOT a recommendation to try them all at once. Talk about instant overwhelm, right?
Instead, consider your audience, your available resources, and your budget. Then test 1 new feature at a time to determine what works best for your customers and your business.
