Instagram’s New (Chronological) Feeds | Weekly Resources

Do you miss the chronological feed on Instagram? Well, we may see it again, in a new form.

Scroll down to learn more about new Instagram feeds, as well as updates on Twitter, Clubhouse, LinkedIn and more.

  1. Instagram’s New Feeds

IG is testing two new feeds, which will be added to our current Home feed.

The 3 feeds will be:

(1) Home – the feed as we know it now, with more recommendations from Instagram

(2) Favorites – a subset or list of accounts you don’t want to miss content from in chronological order

(3) Following – a chronological feed of only those accounts you follow

If you were on Instagram when it first started, then you remember the Home feed was a chronological one. As the platform grew, we lost that experience, and instead, we were shown what the IG algorithm determined we wanted to see more of (just like Facebook).

As a personal user, the Favorites and Following feeds sound good to me, but I wonder how these changes will affect small businesses.

More users may not access their Home feed regularly, which is where small businesses have a better chance of showing up.

I’ll keep you updated as I learn more and test it out once I have it, but let me know your thoughts on these changes.
